JESUS VOLT

Acid Rock/Blues

Jesus Volt's musical world could march behind the New Rock Blues banner. Proudly showing the outrageous sounds of the 70's, drawing their inspiration from the blues of Chess time, taking what is hottest from the Stax label, they produce a dirty and urban sound which RL Burnside, John Campbell or John Spencer Blues Explosion would not disavow. Jesus Volt under this label which is half religious, half dedicated to volts, appear as a combo, a real melting pot like their music.
The funk groove indomitable rhythms are created by enigmatic Lenine Mac Donald with his electro bass fretless and by rasta Magic Doudous's simple drum. Mr Clit Tao who is a particularly gifted musician and willingly admits he was influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallaher, Billy Gibbons is wonderful with his cheap electro guitar. We can't forget Lord Tracy without whom Jesus Volt would not be what they really are ; the singer and leader of the group he is a languid , tense dandy who reminds us of sulphurous Jim Morrison or an acid laden Iggy Pop. With his low and full voice he contributes to giving the Jesus a place apart on the Blues Rock scene
More than 250 dates does this messianic group counts whose mission is exploding the stage they share with the greatest (Alvin Lee, Big Bill Morganfield, Little Bob, Elliot Murphy, André Williams, Magic Slim, Nine Bellow Zero, Pretty Things, Doctor Feelgood, Deborah Coleman, Imperial Crowns…) This leads them to scouring Europe and getting full acknowledgement.
The first important step in their itinerary was Always Drunk, Never Sad, a 2000 album under the label Outside Records which was greeted with cheers by the specialised press. In 2003 Electro Button Funky CoXXX will come out and be available on august 29th at Nocturne's, thanks to their meeting with Belgian Jean Marie Aerts (Arno, Beverly Jo Scott, Urban Dance Squad), consecrated as the best producer of 2003. This talented producer will make them go further beyond their musical limits by adding a touch of electro and funk.
Here we are with the result, a record with modern sonority , a powerful and bewitching atmosphere, which really remains Blues Rock. In this new album, which we could have called the demons of Jesus, because the main topic is sex, the texts are imbricated like drawers. They prefer to evoke or sketch rather than strike mere truths as if they were thrown out with a club. If you add to all this a touch of humour and derision you may have an idea of what Jesus Volt is already the Blues of tomorrow.
