A
mix of Blues coming from the genuine Chicago Blues
tradition and Funk that gives you ants in your pants, the whole thing
served by a steel groove feel, a black & blues voice drawn from Soul
and original songs
Match this
to an unequally innovative rhythm section, provocative horns giving a
touch of « made in Chicago » style, frenzy guitar solos, Boneys
oustanding talent of showman
.and you will soon realize that you
have discovered a band who deserves to be
..... the number
one!!!
BONEY FIELDS and his Life:
1958: Born on the north side of Chicago, I grew up in a musical environment
: my father used to play guitar in " THE DAVID'S SPIRITUAL FIVE"
gospel group and my mother was conductor of the church choir.
* 1970 : I start playing trumpet.
* 1979 : First appearance on the Chicago professionnal ring with different
local Jazz & Funk bands. At that time, my main influences are James
BROWN & the J.B. Horns, EARTH WIND & FIRE & The Memphis Horns,
Bootsy COLLINS in Funk, and Louis ARMSTRONG, MILES, Clifford BROWN in
Jazz.
* 1981 : The guitar player Jimmy JOHNSON gives me my first contract as
a professionnal musician. First tours around the U.S.
* 1983 : I leave Chicago for Los Angeles where I am hired by Smokey WILSON
and Albert COLLINS.
* 1984 : Back to Chicago to play with Little MILTON, who entrust me with
the horns section arrangements.
* 1985 : I join James COTTON Blues Band, and become leader of the horns,
then of the band. First recording sessions : 2 CD. International tours.
Shows with Buddy GUY, Junior WELLS, AC REED, Eddie CLEARWATER, Valery
WELLINGTON , and others....
* 1990 : Departure for Louisiana to join Kenny NEAL's Blues Band. Recording
of 2 CD, with a horns section also featuring Maceo PARKER and Fred WESLEY.
* 1992 : Come back again to Chicago where I set up my own band "BURNING
CHICAGO" (Blues Funk & Jazz). 1 CD recorded.
* 1993 : Departure for Texas where Lucky PETERSON hires me as leader and
musical conductor of the group.
International tours ; Live and TV shows with Bootsy COLLINS, George CLINTON.
2 CD recorded.
* 1996 : I move to Europe and perform with Luther ALLISON and Bernard
ALLISON.
Leader and arranger of both bands.
2 CD with Bernard and a video with Luther recorded.
* Since 1997 : I build up my own band in Paris, in a Blues, Funk &
Jazz style : "The Bone's Project", playing original songs.
First CD " Hard Work " recorded in August 1999.
Over 60 concerts in Europe in 2001 (festivals, clubs
).
The Bone's Project is today my main occupation.
2nd album " Red Wolf " was released in october 2003 on the label
" On the Corner " (Distribution Nocturne)
* Concurrently with my carrier with my own band, I perform with reggae
singer Alpha BLONDY, for european and african tours, also with Gospel
